Tooth Alert! Tooth Alert!

I just noticed today that Laney has a teeny white nubbin popping through! She has been eating her hands and drooling a TON, so I thought it was on its way...but we are just so surprised Laney is getting her first tooth at 5 months. Neither Marcus nor I got our first tooth until we passed our first birthdays! We thought we'd celebrate with a little cereal for dinner.. another first! Laney did pretty good- a little messy, but good!

We also had a trip to the Minnesota Zoo. Aunt Katie and cousins Ashley, Maren and Ryan joined us and we had a blast! Laney and I loved the Aveda Butterfly Garden and Papa loved the Grizzly Bears.

We are headed up to Grandpa and Grandma Hubers in Pease for the 4th of July and our first overnight. Happy 4th to everyone! Don't forget to hang your American flags!

First Father's Day

Marcus celebrated his very first Father's Day last weekend. His day started with a family sleep in, then we went out to breakfast at his favorite cafe, then watched we watched the US Open and went to Jon and Jessie's to spent time with Grandpa Nick. He had a great Father's Day! We are trying to stay cool this week. It's been pretty warm here and since Laney can't get any sun- we are staying in and laying low! It's Summertime : )

It's Papa Time!

Laney had a great week! She helped me throw a surprise party for her daddy's 30th birthday. We discovered that she is a little shy around a crowd, but is quite the party animal! She also helped Dad do work from home one morning! We have really enjoyed hearing her laugh out loud and we will do just about anything to get her to giggle! She is trying to sit on her own- it usually results in a tip-over situation, but she's trying! We went for a long walk around Lake Marion on Sunday and it was really fun- it may become a weekly family outing!

Conan, is that you?!?

Laney went in for her 4 month check up last week. She weighed in at a whopping 12lb11oz and 24 inches long. All systems are go and all we need to do is try for some naps. We tried a schedule last weekend and it didn't go so well. This week, I have just let her fall asleep whenever she wants and that seems to work a little better. She is also really living it up in her toys and laughs out loud when I dance with her and Daddy plays with her! What a great way to start the summer! We have Daddy's birthday and Father's Day coming up- Fun times!

Out like a light

It was a pretty easy week here... We went for a few walks and Grandma Hubers came for a visit. The big news this week is that Laney is now sleeping in her own room, in her crib! What a big girl. It was so easy, that Marc and I are still waiting for the other shoe to drop... but it's all good at the moment! Laney went to her friend Mia's first birthday party on Saturday- We can't believe how fast a year goes....

Here is Laney passed out in her "Little Lamb" swing- notice her socks (or lack there of) constant leg/feet action on this little girl. I have to make sure we don't lose any socks!

Baptism, Bathtime and a Bumbo

Laney had a great week! She was Baptised on Sunday, May 17. She enjoyed seeing family and had a really special day. She is also starting to sit (with a little assistance) so big and strong! We are trying to stay cool- the last two days were over 90 degrees here! I am able to break out the cute summer outfits- and we get to see some cute chubby arms and legs! We are trying out some new toys, too. Marcus put the Excersaucer together and we hung up the Jonny Jumper (doorway jumper)... she is just a liiitle too small- almost there!!!

I wear jeans and it's pretty cute!

Laney is quite stylish in her jeans.. and she wears them with her SIZE 2 diapers! I know I say this every new post, but she just grows so fast! (Lucy had to check out where all the noise was coming from) We celebrated my first Mother's Day and it was so great. Marcus and Laney made sure my day was relaxing and fun. We are getting our house ready for Laney's baptism this Sunday. Marcus has been busy building a beautiful retaining wall and Laney and I picked out some pretty flowers to plant and hang. We will post some pics from this weekend as soon as we can!
